The cost for this years program is $100 for travel members and $35 for home teams. The travel teams have 3 road trips and one home tournament. The home teams play one road trip and one home tournament. Each girl has to purchase a $45 uniform if they do not already have one. These fees are not due until January 10th.

A review of the fall and winter..

A Review of A Successful Fall & Winter
This fall we found a way to take care of many of the girls who because of school ball schedule will not have a normal winter season. We had the Sault "Shackers" made up of Sault Middle School 8th grade, and the Sault "Bandits" made up of Sault Middle School 7th graders.
These teams played in 4 events in four back to back weekends. They started with the "Blizzard on the lake" in Alpena with all teams showing they are pretty much the conference powerhouse, followed by the 80 team "AYBT Lancer Turkey Classic" over thanksgiving weekend in Midland, the "Winter Blowout" in Gaylord where it was a clean sweep with the UP Connection bringing home the "Champion" t-shirts in both 7th and 8th. The last event was the "Holiday Hoopla" where the Bandits finish second falling in the championship game.
These girls will now move on to their school season with tryouts starting on January 18th.
It was great to see the "Shockers" back on the floor after a season without being part of the UP Connection. The Bandits continued winning awards becoming one of the most decorated UP Connection teams ever with an NIT victory under their belts last June in Columbus Ohio.

U.P. Connection
Friday, 14 September 2007
Welcome to the U.P. Connection Basketball Club. We are a club that consists of girl basketball players from 4th grade to 12th grade. We Offer opportunities to try out for our "club" teams that travel around the state and also developmental teams that play locally. Our Goal is to give young female athletes the chance to work on their game, play oppenents at a higher level of competition, and always just to have fun playing the game they love. All this to help the future of local high school basketball be as competitive as it can as well as keep the number of girls particapating up.
I want to thank Derek Jenkins at Northern Computers 906-632-3200 for constructing this website. Thanks to Ellie Lasley for the photos. These photos were chosen because they describe our club. Many different teams working together as one club. Our "Little Yoopers" program building our players of the future through fundamentals. And the best part, the friendships that will last a life time!
